No offense Ally, but we need some good sports talk back on the Infinity. I live with a Cards' fan who has MLB Extra Innings, so he definitely saw the game differently than I did.
I'm sure he would have thought differently if someone intentionally threw at Albert Pujols. His argument is that the game self-regulates with pitchers throwing at batters, but the batters at which pitches are thrown are almost random. How does that send a message?
I'm trying to be as objective as possible, but did Saito really try to hit Pujols? There was no doubt that Motte had an agenda though.
What do you think?

You have to look at the situation and circumstances of the game. Runners on first and second (if I recall correctly) and no or one out. Loading the bases with Fat Elvis up next is not really the best idea. If they were up big or we were up big, that's one thing and could be seen as intentional, but not in a tight game. Tony LaRussa is doing his best to interject himself into the spotlight in order to take some pressure off of his guys. He's doing whatever he can to try to get into the heads of a young team with little playoff experience. I think this team is handling itself well in regards to the whole thing, saying that they just want to win. Which they did again today. Go Crew.
